Jan Johansen
passes away

Dear foundry friends, colleagues and customers,

We are saddened to share with you that this week, the Norican Group, and the green sand moulding industry at large, lost a true pioneering visionary. Jan Johansen, who we consider as “Mr. DISA”, passed away after suffering a heart attack. He was 69 years old.

We cannot begin to quantify the immense contribution Jan made to our company over the forty or so years of his career. Nor can we satisfactorily express to his family our collective and profound sense of loss at his passing. He was a friend, a leader and an industry icon to all of us.

In honor of his memory, our subsidiary in India (DISA India, Ltd.), will be endowing a scholarship in his name. Jan’s passion was building up the DISA business in India, and we think that directly  honoring his memory in this way is something he would have approved and been very proud of.
