In May, DISA, ItalPresseGauss, StrikoWestofen and Renault met to discuss the challenges and the future of automotive casting production.
Innovative technology coupled with knowledge sharing
Amongst the participants were 15 representatives from Renault - one of the leading French based automotive companies; Dominique Dallalba, DISA Moulding Manager in France; Per Larsen, DISA Global Innovation Manager; Giorgio Comincini from ItalPresseGauss and Christophe Lacourt from StrikoWestofen. ItalPresseGauss and StrikoWestofen have recently joined forces with DISA and Wheelabrator, and together as a new Norican Group, became one strong global partner with wider product and service offering. The symposium programme was packed with multiple technology updates and new DISA moulding innovations. Yet, it was flexible enough to make room for interesting discussions and a very open talk about the automotive industry and its major challenges.
DISA Innovation Manager - Per Larsen gave a presentation on DISAMATIC low pressure pouring of aluminium – from moulding, pouring and feeding, to shake-out, de-coring and shot blast, as a means to specifically meet the wishes of RENAULT.
Important findings
The representatives from RENAULT voiced a number of concerns and brought forward interesting topics as well as made various valuable observations. We discussed the impact of the need to reduce CO2 emissions, and therefore the need for lighter cars and, thus, greater use of aluminium castings in the future. Additional highlights included how preferred suppliers and solution providers should offer reliable, accurate and high-quality equipment as well as new developments leading to increased productivity and efficiency.
Thank you!
From DISA, ItalPresseGauss and StrikoWestofen, we would like to thank RENAULT for a very active participation and most interesting feedback. We truly believe that we, you and our mutual business partners will benefit both short- and long-term from the dialogue established and the valuable discussions having taken place at the symposium.
Through an on-going partnership, open dialogue and interaction with our customers, we at DISA strive to prove that we have the strength, ability, experience and innovative mind-set to be the foundry leader, setting out to shape the industry of the future.
